The Bishop’s Committee is the elected governing body of the congregation. Along with the Priest-in-Charge, the Bishop’s Committee is composed of elected members from the congregation, representing a diverse set of skills and gifts for leadership. In the Episcopal Church, the Bishop’s Committee has responsibility for the “temporal affairs” of the congregation, including the care of our buildings and finances, as well as choosing individuals to fill leadership roles in the congregation, and setting the vision for the congregation, along with the Priest-in-Charge.
If you are interested in serving, please contact any member of the Bishop’s Committee to learn more.
Krista is a Professor in the TCU Theatre Department, a professional theatre director, actor and dialect coach, and a cradle Episcopalian. She and her husband, Brian Martinson have been members of St. Christopher's since 2010 and have two grown kids, Sadie (a USMC captain), and Duncan (an IBM technology specialist).
Krista served on the Vestry from 2014-2019, including two years as the Junior Warden, during which she organized and led the refurbishment of St. Christopher's sanctuary and it's exterior landscape. She is a member of the St. Christopher choir and bakes a pretty darn good pie.
Alice grew up United Methodist and became an Episcopalian as an adult when she married Javier. Her family found St. Christopher's during the pandemic and watched online while trying to find a "real" Episcopal church in Fort Worth. They began attending in person just as St. Christopher's was relocating to St. Matthew's. Alice works as an affordable housing developer. She is married to Javier Cruz and they live in Burleson with their two children, Gabby and Alex. She is a member of the Building and Finance Committees and serves as assistant Treasurer. She also sits on the Board of Directors for United Community Centers.
In 1999, our family lived next door to the Episcopal priest and his wife, The Right Reverend Jim Slack and Karen, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. We became good friends even though we were Presbyterian. We had roof damage from a bad storm and had been bamboozled by a rogue roofer who ripped off our roof and left us stranded without one. After fruitless days trying to find this rascal, David, my husband, started reroofing one Sunday morning. Suddenly, there was a torrential storm and rain poured through our ceiling fans into our house. I panicked and cried, calling the Episcopal Church as I knew they were at coffee hour. The entire parish came to our house in the rain to help David tarp the roof and help me mop up all the water in rooms of our house. I became an Episcopalian six months later.
We would move to Brock, Texas, four years later and struggle to find a loving and kind church. We worshipped at Christ the King Episcopal Church where I was a junior warden, licensed lay reader, and the president of the Daughters of the King there. After the split, we started attending St. Christopher’s and have worshiped and loved the people here for the past fifteen years.
I love the Episcopal liturgy and I love being Episcopalian. I am a Daughter of the King which is an international prayer order. I am also the president of the St. Elizabeth of Portugal chapter of the DOK. I serve as the coordinator of Lay Eucharist Ministers. I also serve as licensed lay reader (intercessor), and acolyte and committee chair for the Hospitality Committee. I am a faithful prayer warrior and love the Lord.
Barbara Greer has been an Episcopalian all her life. She first attended St. John’s Episcopal Church in Alamogordo, NM where she was baptized and confirmed. She met her husband, Denis, in Alamogordo where they were married at the same church. They have two children, Kimberly and John who were also baptized at St. John’s.
They moved to Fort Worth in 1985 for Denis’ job. Barbara began work at Cook Children’s Medical Center at that time, where she worked for the next 30 years, retiring as the Nursing Director for their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
After attending several Episcopal churches in Fort Worth, Barbara and Denis found their church home at St. Christopher’s in 2017 when they attended church on the Sunday of their 50th wedding anniversary. During the service, they received their anniversary blessing and were welcomed with open arms.
Barbara has served on the vestry of Christ the King Episcopal Church where she was the Senior Warden for one term. She was honored to be asked to join the vestry at St. Christopher’s after being a member for only one year. Barbara, her husband, son, and granddaughters volunteer with Laundry Love and thoroughly enjoy serving this community.
Barbara’s hobbies are gardening, traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren…with a great grandbaby due in June!
I am a cradle Episcopalian, raised in the Diocese of West Texas. I was confirmed at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in San Antonio, where I was an acolyte, lay eucharistic minister and member of the Junior Daughters of the King. I was a staff member at Camp Capers for four summers (the summer camp for DWTX), involved in Happening and a page for Diocesan Council.
I moved to Fort Worth in 2008 to attend TCU and worked hard to find a strong church home in DFW. I am so excited to have found my community here at St. Christopher's. Since joining the St. Christopher's family, I have become involved as an acolyte, lay reader and leader for Christofolx.
I love the Episcopal Church and find a tremendous amount of comfort in the liturgy. Finding my place at St. Christopher's has been truly the best part of the last couple of the years and I am so excited to be a part of our future.

I was confirmed into St Christopher’s Episcopal Church in December of 2021. I cannot tell you how happy it has made me to be here. We were welcomed warmly and made to feel like members of the family since the first day we came. To be part pf such a warm inclusive group has really brought me closer to God.
