Dear Fellow Parishioners,
Just recently you received a message from CCA Director Jennie Manock (forwarded by Tara) regarding the special procedures CCA is using this year to deliver Thanksgiving Baskets to families in need. I know so many of you look forward to this annual opportunity to provide holiday groceries to our neighbors in need, and that you are accustomed to just bringing your assembled bags to St. Christopher's by the deadline. In view of that, Father Bill and I have discussed options, and have come up with a plan that will still allow you to bring your assembled bags to the church rather than having to deliver them to CCA.
For those of you who have a key to the church, you may bring your completed bags to the lobby, or the parish hall anytime between now and October 29. For those of you who do not have access, the door to the church lobby (the area adjacent to the Church Office and the path to entering the Parish Hall from the south side) will be unlocked from 9 AM to noon on 4 different mornings in the next few weeks, and you may leave your assembled bags on those days. The bags will all be loaded and delivered to CCA on Friday, October 30.
Regarding the $10 donation for a turkey or other meat that we usually provide for each basket, please DO NOT PLACE YOUR CHECK IN THE BAG. You may either include the $10 donation with your usual pledge check that you mail or electronically send in, or send a separate check payable to the church just for the CCA turkey donation. Margaret will then total these donations, and send one check to CCA to cover the $10 gift cards CCA gives out with each basket
